Hello! I'm Farah, Owner and Maker at House of Orange

Skincare has ALWAYS been a passion of mine, but my background began in the food and beverage industry. I am a culinary graduate with a bachelor's and a master's in management. 

In my early 30’s, I developed a skincare disorder called Perioral Dermatitis. It’s a rare dermatitis condition that develops all over the face, mainly around the nose, cheeks, and mouth. Known triggers for this type of dermatitis are skincare products with unnatural and toxic ingredients! And well, I had a vanity PACKED with commercial products that I used religiously. 

After countless research on ingredients, I found that most of them were toxic and could cause disorders not only on the skin, but to the reproductive system as well. The studies on these ingredients are there…published and accessible to the public. 

Turning to the natural became an obsession and after my results, a passion. 

I immediately approached this with a culinary mindset and began to whip up my own recipes, using science to back it up of course. I am proud and excited to say that my dermatitis has not come back and honestly, my skin has never looked and felt this healthy. 

Now, I approach skincare like I do food! First and foremost, I ensure my skincare contributes to your health, inside and out. This should never be a compromise! And it should never be boring! I love to offer unique blends of super fruits and botanicals while offering beautiful textures and colors. 

Fun Fact: One of the first ingredients I used to treat my perioral dermatitis was a solution of fresh orange juice with apple cider vinegar. Hence, House of "Orange" and fruit based products.
